Description: This plant is likely part of the Hydnophytum moseleyanum complex of species. The caudex has a very interesting and distinctive form with large, slot-like entry holes concentrated on one end of a somewhat elongate caudex. It is sometimes sold as Hydnophytum species “shoe caudex”.

Provenance:

Seed collected off a wild plant growing as an epiphyte in the Philippines. The seeds were collected in 2006 by Merlin Sy of Pinoy Plants. The seeds were grown by Jay Vannini here in the USA. He sent me 3 seedlings of their offspring in 2014. This plant is one of the Vannini seedlings.
