Common name: Burro's Tail, Cola de Borrego
Family: Crassulaceae
Synonym(s):
Country of Origin: Mexico (Veracruz)
Description: Burro's Tail is one of the most commonly cultivated succulent plants, although its original wild habitat was a mystery for many decades. A small natural population was discovered in remote canyons in Veracruz, Mexico, in 2008. All cultivated S. morganianum plants around the world presumably derive from this population, via local nurseries where it came to the attention of botanists in the 1930s.
