Provenance:
This is the largest of the H. formicarums in cultivation. I have seen them with 2 foot in diameter caudexes. These were imported from Thailand by Jerry Horne of Miami in the late 1980s. This is a seedling I received from Jerry Horne himself on 8/1/09. The way Jerry tells it the 12 or so plants he imported were found growing near Bangkok, Thailand.1
