Description: A tapered ovoid-cylindric to pyriform, sulcate, dark green pseudobulb with 2 to 3 apical, narrowly oblanceolate to oblong-lanceolate, gradually narrowing below into the conduplicate, long petiolate base, ribbed, subcoriaceous leaves that blooms on a basal, 4" [10 cm] long, racemose, densly many flowered inflorescence arising on a mature pseudobulb with 4 to 6 distichous, imbricating, loose scarious bracts and small narrowly triangular floral bracts and holding the flowers just above the pseudobulbs but below the leaves all occurring in the summer and fall.4

Grow in diffused bright light and keep in cool to intermediate temperatures. Keep humidity from 40 to 70%. Water regularly during growing season. The potting media should be a little moist in between waterings. To prevent rot, avoid water from touching leaves. Reduce watering during the winter. Pot plants in 75% fine bark and 25% perlite or in full sphagnum moss. <sup>3</sup>
