Description: The parrot pitcher plant has a rather distinctive morphology and a different trapping mechanism than most of the other Sarracenia's. It is considered more of a 'lobster pot' type trap rather than the typical 'passive pitfall' variety.

Provenance: Acquired as part of a mixed bog garden (in a plastic tote) donated by Doug Goldman in August 2002. Separated out various components of the mix and finally grew them to sufficient size to ID in August 2003
