Plant flowered here at UConn June 2003 - definitely not Sievekingia. After checking with various experts, it was concluded that this accession is in fact Stanhopea costaricensis and the name changed to reflect that fact.

Plant should be grown in shade. Keep in intermediate to warm temperatures and water regularly. Pot in medium fir bark or sphagnum moss. Keep humidity high. Plants are usually grown in baskets. <sup>3</sup>
