Description: 3m shrub, well armed with angled thorns, greenish yellow fl Su, fleshy fruit.

Uses: Plant pacifies vitiated kapha, vata, bronchitis, cough, asthma, and is a good expectorant. It is also used in diabetes, diarrhea and arthritis.1

Antioxidant, Antispasmodic, Promotes the secretion of sputum by the air passages, used to treat coughs. Strengthens the liver and protects it from damage. It aids in the digestive system with stomach discomfort and as a kidney tonic.The leaves are also used as a stimulant.

Traditionally in Siddha medicine, the bark of Azima is used in proportion with other barks to create a remedy for infertility and reproductive strengthening. The plant is also used to heal snake bites.
