Tuber to 4 inches in diameter, globose to subglobose, with corky surface; rooting from lower surface; leaf blades cordate, rarely somehat angled, to 5.5 inches long, dark green, with gray-green marbling above, dark violet-purple or pale gray-green beneath, margins dentate, slightly cartilaginous; flowers about 1 inch long, corolla lobes oblong-obovate, pale pink with magenta streaks toward the base, eared at base.
