Description: Arborescent species from Ethiopia forming a tree. The erect 8-angled branches have very deep angles and are edged with a border of closely packed, paired spines to 1cm long.

Habitat: Well-drained stony soils of hills and slopes, in montane evergreen woodland and bushland, at 1300 to 2200 m altitude.
