Accession #: 198502424

Accession Date: 1985-12-31 00:00:00

Bloom Status: 🪴 Not Flowering

Location: 2204

Quantity: 1

Source: Unknown

Provenance:

May 2006 - Originally in collection as Euphorbia bupleurifolia. ID determined to be wrong by Matt Opel.

A CCSS member suggested Euphorbia bulbosum, but that does not appear to be a valid name in the literature.

August 2015 - Matt Opel notes natural range of E. bupleurifolia (Eastern Cape and Kwazulu Natal) and E. susannae (Little Karoo in the W. Cape) do not overlap, so this is likely a horticultural hybrid rather than a natural one. Will retain in collection as an example of hybrid plant as we have both parents in collection as well.
