Low-growing mat about 10" with deeply lobed leaves. Blooms profusely with 1" yellow-orange flowers resembling marigolds or zinnias, which are borne singly on the end of each stem. Plant creeps and roots at nodes, making a dense ground cover.
In addition, this species has traditionally been used to treat hepatitis, indigestion, and infections.
Uses: Studies have shown effectiveness as an anti-inflammatory, anti- microbial, and analgesic. Uses in traditional medicine include in Trinidad and Tobago where it is used for reproductive problems, amenorrhea, dysmenorrhea.
