Climbing shrub, similar to S. guttata, but entirely glabrous; leaves elliptic, to 6.5 inches long, obtuse to shortly acuminate, petioles to 3 inches long; calyx to 2.75 inches long, 3-4-lobed, corolla yellow, with 5 purple lines, chalice-like, to 9 inches long.
