Most species only grow outdoors in the tropics. They can be cultivated as greenhouse and house plants, but they will not tolerate winter minimums below 64°F (18°C). Plant in rich, moist, well-drained, humus-rich soil in part-shade. Water and feed well in the growing season. Propagate from seed or cuttings.
